words: i have walked upstairs  to the twinkled twinkie  unwrapped plastic meets a wriggled muscle in a non decaying cavity   leaf litter yard from the balcony  hand wringing over handrails  equation update  and I turn to see   this corvid squacks and stares  observe the subtle head weave  a fan of irredescent feather fills outstretched hopping mesmer dancing scenes  as it hoppens sunshine feathers  as it happens sunshine and feathers  each eye sizing me

The words are a couple of lines from the Don Van Vliet poem entitled  Popplin' Gas Heart which appeared in a bi-annual publication of new writing called Conjunctions (1982)   the snippet as below:  bobby breen suave pompadours faced dwarfed by bow ties white stack up buttons... old girl with a mop and pale hairsock knee vain posture nurse white cracked scuffed brogues sole red strings violet waste... limp keyholder with glowing sun charged owl eyes tricks up her sleeve unbelievably fancy

pink hearts float up  between the chalkmark stars  in a moonlight reflected fir tree   testicles  were just a couple a greeks  who were really really really really really really  just nuts  for me  let’s retire rich  then we can lose our guts  invent a new way to do some drugs  after  the cardinals wake us up  warble out that sound  titillating tales of territory  as their   pink hearts float up  between the chalkmark stars  in a moonlight reflected fir tree   I got a can of beans  I got a can of beans
